Piglet has many interests that I do not share.  Jumping off the side of the sofa with a primal yell as he lunges at Mummy with all the energy of a WWE wrestler in full flight is one of them.  Car transporters is another.  And buses, and racing cars and…well everything with wheels really.  Which is why I thought it might be nice to seek out some opportunities to engage in some pursuits that he is likely to be interested in.  I have found myself watching Paw Patrol and secretly enjoying it; watching Fireman Sam and making endless comments about the price of council tax in Pontypandy and musing aloud that it’s a miracle that Norman Price-on a wrecking mission since 1993-hasn’t yet been placed in juvenile detention.

I’ve also found myself seeking out opportunities that I might not previously have been interested in, but which I know Piglet would love.  Like the Cardiff Speedway for example.

The Adrian Flux British FIM Speedway Grand Prix will be held on on Saturday 22nd July in the Principality Stadium, Cardiff.  When I used to live next door to Wembley Arena, we used to have events like these happening right on the doorstep all the time, but I rarely ever attended them, choosing instead to hang around in the Starbucks opposite, drinking in the atmosphere of all the excited stadium and arena-goers and popping into the library to get Piglet a book, as you do.

I have to say this event sounds terrifying to me, as the riders will be competing on bikes with NO BRAKES, but I’m also fairly sure that this will make it all the more exciting for Piglet, and there is also a family-friendly fanzone taking place outside from 11am to 4pm featuring bike simulators and mountain bike stunt performers.
